Google chat is now available

Users of Gmail will now to chat live with fellow users without downloading a separate program. Chats will be automatically archived unless the user opts not to. Ads won't be served into live chats, but will appear in archived chats. It's still in beta so there things that you can't do, like putting cute little smiley faces in your chat sessions.
